/ I think most folks who are looked up to need to act very very responsibly. I've seen so many folks encouraging dropping out of college. I think we should let students decide for themselves. I've seen IIT dropouts work on their startups for years & yet not being unicorns.
/ Critical thinking, knowledge, experience cannot be learnt in a hurry, they need to be imbibed via experiences over a period of time. Agreed that not every study may help. However, when startups fail, there's always something to look forward to from the learnings.
/ A large part of starting up is about critical thinking, evaluation, iteration, a fair knowledge of certain businesses, knowing your customer & market. And a lot of maturity, people management, building relationships, staying the course through hardships & struggle.
/ It's not about coding. It's how you tell & sell. I've seen many many college dropouts failing to interact, express, communicate, take decisions basis the roller coaster ride. I'd say get your education/polish your skills, experiment & then decide your course of action.
/ Ofcourse you can take specific courses don't need to get caught in the education system where you can barely select your choice of subjects. Lambda school is great. Lot to learn. And yes Universities/Schools need to re-evaluate their relevance now even more than ever!
