At the moment there is a lot of heat and very little light in relation to our Covid response.

Can I suggest another way?

This is a good time for a rapid review of our infrastructure- Covid prevention+control/immunisation which would provide us with immediate priorities.

A lot of what has been designed was created in the emergency with short term objectives. It had to be.

But we now have an opportunity to focus and strengthen our response.

We can learn from our own and others experience. There is a wealth of data.

This will also allow us to plan our social, emotional, economic recovery. This requires planning for now.

We also need to build in insurance policies for curve balls like new variants, vaccine supply or effectiveness issues etc. This would greatly enhance our sense of security.

It's not good to feel like we are living day to day, Covid update to Covid update.

What would we like our recovery to look like?

Could it be better than what we left behind?
