A lot of people on this app make a fuss about Messi's 'unlucky' 18/19 season, due to the semifinal exit vs Liverpool.
Which makes me wonder, why does Ronaldo's 11/12 go under the radar when it was also unlucky but clearly better.

I know many will point out that Ronaldo had a better team, which is true. However Ronaldo faced way more difficult opposition in the league.

However points difference alone does not determine the quality of opposition. Saying 18/19 Atletico were anywhere near the same level as 11/12 Barca is absurd.

Many will be quick to point out that Ronaldo missed in the shootout. But its stupid to ignore the fact his 3 G+A were the reason Madrid made it there in the first place.
