Like bathroom bans, they imagine that trans boys and men don’t exist, and that being transgender is some kind of way to game the system, which is profoundly, sickeningly insulting to those boys and men and to all trans people who endure incredible adversity to be themselves.
They ignore the fact that trans kids who are medically cared for typically have forestalled puberties, making them if anything smaller and less physically advantaged for sport.
They imagine a world where cis boys dress up as and pretend to be girls so they can win more, like some kind of jock version of Klinger from MASH. Which is utterly bananas.
They suggest that preventing the basically-imaginary possibility that a trans girl who’s already been through a boys’ puberty would compete and be slightly bigger than her opponents is more important than giving maybe a million kids the chance to participate in sports.
Actually? These jerks are just looking for rhetorical cover to be horrible to kids, and make sure those kids know they are less-than, and aren’t allowed to do normal kid stuff because they’re different.
