SEL is an avant garde show that was ahead of its time covering themes like technology& how information is exploited+used to manipulate people. SEL has many layers that’ll only get better on a rewatch tho I’ll write a lil of my thoughts on it watching it for the first time.. (1/5)
I like how identity is handled in this show as Lain begins to experience many events and meets people who make her question herself. Albeit with people psychologically trying to mess with her and a realization of something she still maintained her truth that Lain is Lain. (2/5)
What began in theory at the start of the show& eventually became real was the blend of technology into reality. Borders between the two became less and less clear, Lain wanted to literally upload herself to the Wired, the internet so to speak, I think that’s commentary... (3/5)
on how we can get swept up in this easily, that’s very true for people who spend a lot of time on twitter i.e. Also the concept of not existing until someone believes& confirms in your existence is very interesting, goes deeper into the philosophical themes SEL explored. (4/5)
It’s like needing a witness, you could beat& rob a blind lady but if no one saw you do it you can’t say it happened lmaoo I ain livetweet while watching bcus I wasn’t sure if I liked it or understood it enough but still I wanted to tweet my thoughts yea yea thx for reading (end)
