It hit me this morning that I've been a moderator for over a decade, which is pretty cool. It can also be pretty shitty sometimes.

The vast majority of the time it's been for something as simple as "Hey, noticed you broke a rule here. Try not to do that in future".
"They're just words", "Don't be so soft", "Imagine getting upset over this".
Words are powerful, words can hurt.

When you deal with things like this on a near daily basis believe me when I say it can take its toll. Not just for being insulted and threatened for try to make a cool, chill place for people to chat with others, but reading comments made towards others can be disheartening.

Why? Because I refuse to let bullies, bigots and racists win. I refuse to be beaten into submission. I'm staying so that others can enjoy their chosen platform and have an chill, enjoyable experience.

Today I saw a grown man upset to the point he wants to "start a war" with a another community for the sole reason of a post being removed for breaking a rule.
Rather than reading the rules, apologising and looking at how a simple mistake can be fixed, he calls them idiots...
