MAVS STAT DUMP THREAD basically just because i don't have anywhere to use this stuff anymore. with the disclaimer that, as a great man once said, i'm not here to argue:
this is all offense stuff, and most of it matches the eye test. basic first. passes per game

definitely seems like not only ball is moving less, everything is moving less. this is true. off-ball screens per game:

and yet, it does seem like they're still getting a pretty decent amount of good looks. this is also true. per second spectrum's "shot quality" metric:

to support this further, creating open catch and shoot opportunities are the goal. and? percent of mavs catch and shoot jumpers considered "unguarded"

so they're passing a bit less, screening off the ball a bit less, yet still creating the same shot quality and amount of open looks. but as you've likely observed/guessed, the efficiency has fallen off of a cliff.

not trying to be "make or miss league" guy, because it's a gross watch right now. but you traded your best shooter to improve on d, a few of your other good shooters have been out and now have to work back in (or are still out) with no practice and limited shootarounds, blah blah
i'm not saying i'm not upset about it. just trying to give some context rather than screaming "fire rick, luka's leaving, waive KP, cuban sell the team". OH. last thing. KP. there's no doubt he's struggling to find his form.
and for sure, we have to say that too often and that's a concern. he's not very good right now. but only AD, KAT, and christian woods are averaging same or better points/rebounds/blocks lines this year. three players.
obviously, he's been the least efficient in that group. but not by a crazy amount. that's bc he's shooting it *way* better on 2FGAs than he ever has. IMO, it's really all about hitting a few more open threes, and playing with maxi on defense. ok. go mavs.
