I’ve really tried to gather my thoughts overnight, as I saw the alert on my phone that I had been dreading for the last few seasons....oh and this will be a thread

See being a @Rockies fan that’s how I’ve learned to live, expecting the inevitable of getting rid of some of the best to play the game of baseball. Yet with that, I still am sickened to my core EVERY time it happens. Tulo, Walker, Nolan, shoot even letting DJ walk away...2/
It’s the norm and that is truly a shame. Myself and my family have been fans since the beginning. I have spent almost more time in that ballpark than in a gym, and that’s saying something for me. But these regular occurrences stem from those that lead the organization 3/
The Rockies made it very clear. We will support a GM that has done 0 things to benefit our teams (see photo) while letting players walk away, trade them, etc. Our farm system is not near as deep as it could or should be. Most all stars repping purple pinstripes were HOME GROWN 4/
But do I blame these once in a generation players like Nolan for leaving, ABSOLUTELY NOT! I could not be happier for him, DJ, Larry, Tulo, etc. they DESERVE BETTER!! They deserve an organization that wants to win and does everything they can to win. They deserve a team that 5/
Isn’t satisfied with just making the playoffs as a wild card team but pushes to win

. Rockies bring in hundreds of thousands of fans every season (minus 2020) and that’s all that matters. Winning doesn’t matter and until it does this will continue to be the norm. 6/

Mediocrity is the bar that this franchise is okay with. And for the fans that actually care, that’s a shame. The Rockies are the laughingstock of the entire MLB. Bridich has solely placed himself as one of the worst executives in professional sports. His moves have been very 7/
Questionable and now this....a joke. After refusing to pay FA or keep guys on roster, the @Rockies not only trade the greatest 3B to ever play away, but hey here’s $50 million too
. I mean seriously, what in the actual (you know what) 8/

I love @Tstory2 but how in good conscious does he commit to this franchise after watching their history with star players? Time will tell and until that disappointment I’m sure my heart will carry hope just to be crushed. *Rant portion over* 9/
As for Nolan, thank you. Thank you for treating us to UNBELIEVABLE plays every single game. Thank you for competing every pitch like it was your last. It has been such an honor to watch the greatest 3B take the field every day for my hometown team. 10/
Witnessing greatness sometimes takes years of reflection to really appreciate, but with Nolan it was dang near immediate. Some of my favorites...

—Tarp Catch in SF
All barehanded, bullet throws to 1B. Clutch hits. Being a great teammate.

But most of all the ultimate competitor. Thank you for the memories and bringing us back to #Rocktober. I will miss #NolanBeingNolan but grateful to watch the best of the best for as long as I did. 12/
