Winter Storm Update (1.30.21 / 9am)

I have released my first snow map for this storm. I have some confidence in these numbers based off of the current trends from the weather models.
This will be a long duration event. Snow will begin for everyone Sunday Afternoon. I'd say between 1 and 4 pm. It could be a little later depending on how fast the precip can moisten up the atmosphere. Snow becomes more scattered by Tuesday.
Most of us will see snow through a majority of this storm. I do think we see a changeover to sleet or rain sometime Monday Morning as the storm comes close to our coast. The Shore will be in the mix/rain the longest, which is why I have lower totals.
You've probably been seeing a range of different numbers since yesterday, anywhere from 2" to 1 ft. If mixing/rain wasn't an issue, we could easily go 10"+. I do think the rain/snow line could push up towards Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, but it is impossible to forecast
We could see wind gusts up to 45 mph in spots. If your area is prone to power outages, be prepared.

Moderate tidal flooding is likely at the Jersey Shore on Monday Morning and Monday Night. It could be over 7 feet. If you live in a flood-prone area, please prepare
So as usual, we are dealing with another complicated storm in South Jersey. I wish I could pinpoint exactly who gets a lot of snow and who gets rain, but that's the joy of forecasting.
