/Why are there so many sex & relationship “advice” articles from women who’s only qualifications are that they 1) sleep around for attention 2) are addicted to drugs 3) have sex for money 4) are conventionally attractive w/ low self esteem or 5) have an untreated mental illness?
/ Sex & Relationship advice is a sphere where women could really use some public advocacy from women with knowledge, research backgrounds, and experience, and instead we get gimmicks, lies, and cool-girling.
/ And “SeX PoSiTiVe” feminist writers are the *worst* because their focus on “breaking down sexual stigmas” seem to always center Porn use, sex work, BDSM, Polyamory, one night stands as “progressive”. Areas where inexperienced women are likely to be abused or exploited by men.
/ We’re in an era where sexual assaults or even murder are being construed as “bad sex” partially because so many sex pozzy writers neglect to talk about cultivating realistic boundaries when dealing with men. They even go so far as to push sex work and BDSM to teenagers.
/ Teenagers are in no way equipped to handle complicated boundary negotiations that even seasoned adults struggle with and advocating for sex that could so easily devolve into exploitation and abuse is irresponsible.
/ “Breaking down stigmas” is often a tool used to break down reasonable boundaries & paint anyone not participating as religious & regressive. So much so that we see Gen Z & Millennial women & girls signaling their progressiveness by how abuse they can take from men sexually
/ Or they measure their progressiveness on how much disrespect they’ll tolerate to show how good they are at “cOmMuniCaTiOn”, when the smart choice would have been to walk away 90% of the time.
/ Uh, no you don’t have to tolerate or participate in your partners porn use and we’re not sure why the fuck this keeps being pushed on women to accept when the vast majority of porn is problematic AF, offers no benefit to women and is obviously in no way feminist: https://twitter.com/femdatstrat/status/1340585967795617798
