Some light snow will begin by early to mid afternoon. Locations west & south will see a couple hour precip mix at onset too, possibly even causing a light glaze. But the main story is the transition to heavy snow during the time windows annotated here. #ILwx #INwx
Snow will start to abate overnight and become more off & on Sunday. However, road conditions will likely still be hazardous to start the day. Some of the light snow Sunday will accumulate, and accums on Sunday over an inch are favored in lake effect for northeast IL. #ILwx #INwx
Besides travel impacts, this snow will be a heavy wet nature. That may keep it from blowing much, but it means it will be problematic to shovel. Here are tips for that. Please be smart and safe if shoveling!
