#ChidambaramSwamy was from Madurai. Later he came to Thiruporur and found the IDOL and dedicated to people.He has also written 726 songs about this Temple.He has a Seperate Sannathi in this Temple.

Lord Kandhaswamy was Self-Proclaimed.
There is no special Abishekam here.
He's Standing like #Mumoorthy (Asthara Mala like #Brahma,Abhayahasta Position like Lord #Shiva and Uruhastha position with the left hand on the thigh like Lord #Vishnu.
The Kailasanathar and Palambikai temples are located on the hill near the temple. Thus it is the site of Lord Shiva on the mountain and Lord Murugan at the foot.
