Adam starts us off with his vision from 2040 - journalism should focus more on why things are happening, not just reporting on the what
"Understanding why something is happening will help us to take action to change it"

Use frank language! Giving people the tools to make choice can prevent the need for "news avoidance" and let people actively engage with their world
Connect the dots between big issues and local issues to make it real for people

Olivia is talking us through the approach of @ujimaBlackGreen changing the landscape in Bristol
"I didn't see myself in the news or media until I saw @galdemzine in my twenties - that shouldn't be the case"
How can we champion local journalism and link to the global context?

Storytelling should move to the front of all media types - how can we care if we don't show the humanity?
Don't be afraid to be bold or innovative - nothing is neutral, why aim for an impossible standard?
"Opinion is valued but truth is not lost" sums up the 2040 we want!

Louise from @national_food highlights that the system is all interconnected, and suggests the council should increase and protect true public space, esp public eating space
