Just saw a tweet from someone concerned that Wanda's mental health would be the 'villain' of the show and I'd like to thank all of us critics in advance for walking the balance between the trauma she's experienced and the villainy she could clearly perpetrate.
I can name dozens of people who, as critics, have learned from the 10+ years of mcu representation and who will treat Wanda's trauma with respect and dignity. Because let's be clear. Comics and mental health walk that same line between stigma and solid villain.
Anyway! Let's be really clear and concise because Marvel's netflix shows *sucked* at walking the line between tragedy and villainy (I have a Taylor swift list and many of you are on it who excused it.) Wanda's trauma is real, it doesn't excuse her villainy!
Honestly what tells me they're going to create compelling characters and talk about how they cope with trauma is Monica. Monica effectively had a love of her life die. She was separated from that love just like Wanda. I see similarities building and being explored!!
So yeah I don't see a repeat of Bullseye and I look forward to any heel turns because I think the mcu has learned and I think that seeing the dichotomy of how these two cope will be perfect and splendid and produce many crying memes and we will all learn and be wiser.
You know what I want tho? Give me a dive on Bucky. Give me a deep well paid episode or scene or story arc in Falcon where Bucky Barnes has to face the things he did and comes out stronger. Have him help Sam. 'don't do the things I did' cannot WAIT for #falconandwintersoldier
