It’s a Saturday afternoon and I’m working on some software tools today. I wrote the bulk of the code back in ’16. Today I’m playing around making it easier to bulk process and upload images to flickr. Joining up an image processor to an uploader.
I can easily tell it was 2016 because there are six dashes across the comments. Anyway, the test data I’m using today is some photos I quickly took visiting my Mums.
This is mums Uncle Harold, just back from the WW2.

Harold was a “Loggie" and when he got back, was over flogging realestate in Adelaide. So he had an idea and with his neighbour started a company.
Here he is on the left, with Lance Hill and Jack Short.
Lance the engineer, Harold the entrepreneur they latched onto the idea of a better hoist and a business out of it.
Theres a couple of stories that are interesting. The first is this one about Vince Flynn who worked sales in North Queensland (FNQ). As a salesman Vince would go property to property to see if there was interest in the Hoist.
“If I’m going to work for you I need more ammo"

One property he bit off more than he could chew. Ended up a .22 rifle pointed in the face. It turns out in this time people were being attacked by vagrants who posed as salesmen. I found this bit out talking to my mum.
That’s where this shot comes in. Summer, shorts, t-shirt, hat, thongs. Not much has changed... but the clothes line is a Hills. A Wedding present from Uncle Harold.
