In this thread i'm just gonna ramble about my view of Kaeya and Jean's relationship bc i think it's interesting that it's more between the lines than the others. (this might be long so sorry)
I find Kaeya hard to read so let's start with Jean: "a strict and impeccable woman. Her flawless etiquette knows no fault" -Ningguang. Despite this she seems to place a lot of trust/faith in Kaeya, even if she may disagree with his methods
Here in the manga she doesn't even hesitate! I find it funny that some one like her has some one so suspicious as her right hand. She also trusts him with background work like making sure Noelle doesn't endanger herself.
Maybe Jean knows him well enough to have faith that he has Mondstadt's best intentions in mind? Who knows, but she's clearly very confident in his ability.
Now, Kaeya's harder to explain just bc we don't know when he's lying or being genuine. From his voicelines he gives you insight or opinions of many characters in Mondsatdt. Interestingly enough he doesn't say much about Jean at all. So we need to dig deeper.
it's easy to say that maybe he's steering under her radar, i would say yeah he totally is. Maybe he's trying to put up a "good boy" front so he is clear of suspicion. But does he care about her? My stance is: yes. he does.
How can I talk about their relationship without mentioning Leo Minor Act I? He's probably the only one who could have plausibly been planning the party. (Everyone else was busy) The story makes a point to highlight that it was his idea in the first place.
He doesn't take credit for the idea, for all we know, maybe lied to everyone else that it was the traveller's idea too. Otherwise Amber or Lisa would've poked him about it right? Clearly he cares about Jean's wellbeing but.. why hide it?
Maybe he's just embarrassed about it? Maybe he's afraid things will be awkward, maybe he's afraid to BE closer to some one after what happened with his brother and father. Look at him he's basically hiding in the corner of the tavern
Thing about Kaeya is that he's rarely explicit about who and how much he cares. In fact it's better read through his actions... Though this is going off the rails a bit so i'll leave it there. imo Kaeya cares a lot for the people around him.
I'd say between him and Jean they respect/trust eachother a lot. It's a funny dynamic, Lawful good leader with her Chaotic good/neutral right hand man. (end?? Unless i realised i missed some thing.)
