as tempting as it is to say it, no, Marjorie Greene is not mentally ill, shes just a piece of shit

for one thing, the DSM explicitly says that deviating from societal norms isnt an illness or disorder if its based on political or cultural reasons,
and for another, her beliefs do no cause distress, disability, increased risk of death, or loss of autonomy

in fact, her beliefs have made her more popular in her chosen circles and actually *benefited* her life more than harmed it

her beliefs and attitudes dont qualify as delusions either; shes not basing them off some internal logic, shes being fed false narratives that she is accepting based on the evidence supplied to her which fits her pre-existing belief structure

e.g. she may believe the parkland shooting didnt happen, but then someone she trusts as an informed and reliable source tells her it actually *did* happen, but was a false flag operation to attack gun rights, she would amend her position to incorporate this new information

its not some theory she came up with in a bubble, with no outside influence, and she refuses to change it based on new information
its worse
shes being fed a false narrative that shes accepting, embracing, and spreading on to others
