Farm hullabaloo summary: six words, six lies.
Peaceful Apolitical Indian Farmer Protest vs Farm-Laws.
Let's dismantle this nefarious facade.
First, Indian. This is mainly a Punjab problem. Not even Haryana (e.g. govt is stable). Delhi venue is to appear 'Indian' + max TRP. 1/
Second word-Farmer. This is a vested interests problem, not farmer problem, even in Punjab. Farm laws are expert-consensus for 3 decades on topic (Venezuela-model 'activists' aren't experts). Everyone against it today has been for it in past. 3/
Third word - peaceful. Nearly got us on this one. Deferred gratification for months in preparation for grand finale. Full credit to Delhi Police & politicians to foil river-of-blood plan. Optics of tiranga-down, separatist-overtones is what will deflate bubble. 4/
Fourth word - Apolitical. Politicians stringing along puppets was obvious but covert. Post big-bust, it's over. AAP, RLD showed face. Congress PC, blatantly ignoring tiranga-down, was final nail. As peaceful & apolitical go, so does legitimacy (not high to begin with) 5/
Fifth word- Protest. Lawless public nuisance isn't protest, even if we're conditioned to believe so. Every legit avenue was a dead-end: Supreme court, negotiations, massive concessions. Protests have a point. An aim. If aim is decimation of opponent, it's war, not protest. 6/
Sixth word - Farm-law. It's clear this had nothing to with farm, farmer or law. Wayanad MP saying 'Country should burn' made it clear. Let's use correct words now. If not about farm-laws, what's this Violent Political Unrepresentative Dalali Insurgency about? 7/
This is about winning the greatest game of all, by any means. Can't outscore Messi? Break his ankle. Having given up on winning popular will (as they have nothing to offer), a cabal of losers have decided to change not merely the rules but the game itself. 8/
'Democracy in danger' columns cleverly hide 'from whom' part. This protest is merely one manifestation of a treacherous strategy to hobble, discredit, delegetimize and eventually fell an elected government by anything but elections. It's neither first nor last manifestation. 9/
Where from here. After disturbing imagery, Jats have replaced inconvenient Sikhs. Tikait will do to jail. He'll likely attempt a mini river-of-blood during arrest. Thanks to JAM trinity, broader plot should unravel (money trail, location details). More pawns in jail. Then? 10/
Current excuse may peter out. Battle may end. But war is perennial. Going from ruling all to ruling none is unpalatable. Nothing to offer, nothing to lose & will stop at nothing is a deadly combo. No option but to gear up for an unending, dirty game. All of us. All the time.11/11
