1. We had the sudden closure of the Anglo/French border at Xmas for 48hrs, which was later lifted.

We've now had Article 16 of the Protocol invoked without warning, then lifted.

I don't think the WA will survive much past another stunt.
2. The Government will conclude the significant issues with NI/GB trade barriers are too problematic to make it worthwhile pursuing the fulfillment of the Trade & Cooperation Agreement, with an increasingly unstable & belligerent EU.
3. For once I miss Jean-Claude Juncker. I believe he had enough sense to know not to make mutually beneficial trade relations any more difficult than needs be.

1st of Jan should have been the point where old battles were put to bed & a new trading relationship commenced.
4. Keeping in mind that the TCA hasn't been fully ratified, this is a precarious time for the future relationship.

But the UK/EU relationship continues to decline & the situation on the mainland is politically unstable in many member states.

It's a turning point.
