Because some parts of the Yams interview in answers have been spread incorrectly, I'm translating it with corrections. +1
❎Mikasa and Eren's separation is not satisfactory for readers
✅I don't think we can necessarily portray the separation of Mikasa and Eren as a good thing (Yams' own opinion). +2
Yams doesn't think that Mikasa's separation from Eren is a good thing for Mikasa, and he says that it can't be portrayed only as a good thing.

Independence from Eren ≠ Mikasa's happiness. +3
What I mean by "can't be portrayed as a good thing" is that Mikasa will have her development in the midst of her separation from Eren (the current development), but the separation from Eren is not the whole of Mikasa's character development. +4
ーThen... Eren and Mikasa could be separated!?

Yams: Mikasa's growth might be by separating with Eren. By separating, she can return to being a normal girl like she was when she was little... +5
When I was reading readers’s impressions on the Internet, I came across an interesting comment: male manga artists tends to be negative about fate.
On the contrary, female manga artists who are able to portray fate in a positive way, +6
and when they meet the person of their dreams, they will say, "This is fate!" and considers it good that the plot of her life has been set.
The people who try to change that fate become the villains. +7
Of course, this may not be true for all manga artists, but in the sense of a male manga artist, I feel sorry for Mikasa if the only thing she wanted in her life is to be with Eren.

But maybe Mikasa is happy to be with Eren all the time. +8
With that in mind, I don't think it's necessarily a good thing to potray Mikasa and Eren to be apart from each other. +9
So, even Mikasa may have to suffer between Eren and Armin. (By suffer it means dealing with them)
Mikasa may able to understand Armin’s globalistic way of thinking but it doesn’t mean that she can abandon the self-centered way of thinking Eren. +10/
