Wondering if you'll get snow with this weekend's storm? So is everyone else! Right now it's just too close to call exact amounts in exact areas. Here's what I'm thinking right now...
This system is about to drop out of the Rockies and meet up with Gulf moisture. #ohwx
As the low deepens and begins to really come together, it takes more of a northeastern track, that is, until it meets up with strong high pressure over Canada. Then when and where of the turn of this system will determine our snowfall here in #CentralOhio #ohwx
It's this high level of uncertainty that will make it nearly impossible to hone in on snowfall amounts. Most of #CentralOhio could see a change over to rain for a period. Or, maybe not? That changeover dictates how much or how little snow accumulates. #ohwx
Want to see how uncertain things are? Our two most popular weather models, the GFS and Euro are roughly 100 miles apart on where they think the heaviest snow will be. For 48 hours out, that is VERY uncertain. #ohwx
So when you local weather person throws up one of these: 🤷‍♂️ Cut them some slack! This is hard stuff to nail down. I'll write more tomorrow as things become clearer. #ohwx
