2. Champions League performances
At the end of 2018/19 Sterling put in some brilliant performances in the Knockout stage. A trademark late winner at Schalke and then grabbing a goal and assist in the return leg helping us dismantle them 7-0. Turning up when it matters

In the QF against Spurs he had a relatively quiet game as we lost 1-0 but still won his side a penalty which was not converted. However he was on top form in the next game, scoring a brilliant opener and finding space at the back post to put us back in the lead at 3-2
He scored a last gasp winner (5-3) to complete his hattrick and send Man City through in one of the most iconic performances. Sadly VAR had other ideas. 4 goals 1 assist in 4 games of knockout football we can definitely say he was phenomenal
He continued his scoring form in the next group stage, coming on to score and assist against Zagreb to rescue us in the 2nd match. He then ran riot against eventual quarter finalists Atalanta, scoring a hattrick, getting an assist and winning a penalty.
He ended 2019 with 9 goals and 3 assists in the Champions League (9 apps). A very respectable number against quality opposition with som world class performances.

Hattrick in the 3-1 over Watford, Hattrick + assist in the FA Cup Final again against Watford to help us win, only goal in the community shield against Liverpool which we won on pens, League goals against Tottenham and Arsenal and many more WC performances/moments

5. Stats
Sterling was the 4th highest top scorer in Europe in 2019 (43) only behind Mbappe(44), Messi(50) and Lewandowski(55). He has 20 assists. That adds his total all competition g+a to 63. I couldn’t find out how that compared but I think only Messi and Lewandowski had more.

I know he hasn’t been as good in 2020 but we saw that form in the first lockdown and I feel like it’s coming back now. Don’t disrespect him
