A thread of things that I’ve learned and enjoyed since I came to MHGU from MHW. (Yep, that’s right I’m a 5th fleet hunter going backwards.)
1. having a portable monster hunter with me at all times is honestly amazing. I never knew what I was missing here until I finally tried it for myself. At this point I just bring my switch everywhere. Car rides, work, meetings, bathrooms, bed, and etc. soooooo nice to have!
2. I really love the difference in the grind here. If I wanna craft a weapon in GU I don’t just fight THAT monster. I gotta fight 4 monsters and their offspring to make it. Lol it makes me look at everything and go “I’ll hunt anything cause I might need it later” I love that!
3. Styles and arts = swag. After messing around with some styles and arts I can see where a lot of rise hh’s animations came from and honestly that’s pretty lit. Breakdance on em folk

4. Weapons were waaaay prettier in this game (talking about GU)
I see what people meant when they got mad at world’s team for doing bits of monsters on bone or iron lol. Makes complete sense now

5. I LOVED THE DOUBLE NOTE SYSTEM FOR HH! THAT SHIT IS ACTUALLY PRETTY RAW. You mean to tell me I don’t need horn maestro? YOU MEAN TO TELL ME I CAN PLAY ATTACK UP L AND SELF IMPROVEMENT IN JUST TWO NOTES WHAT
6. Super pounds in multiplayer are a no go lol. Whoops, I’ve been spoiled thanks to world

7. SOME HORNS THAT HAVE BAD NOTES IN WORLD HAVE GREAT NOTES HERE!!!! Looking at you ziggy and narga!
8. post-Fatalis in GU it seems like there’s more solid options for hunts and matchups whereas in world it kind of felt like Fatalis kind of came in and took a massive dump on all the armor and weapons. Not that I mind
it’s just like “well, damn ain’t that interesting”

9. Talisman system. I like that shit. No, I really REALLY like that shit.
I’ll take a break here for today
