I was quite surprised watching my regional TV news, which usually is occupied with local issues mostly, and hardly ever covers world news, to air a news report about #Navalny

But it turned out quite instructive.
#Navalny made worldwide headlines those days with his new movie about Putin's palace. Turns out, he produced parts of the movie in south west Germany where he was "recovering from his poisoning", hence its appearance on local TV news.
The studios were newly established and are aiming at Hollywood productions. The owners have worked in Los Angeles and still have personal connections.
This is also how they got involved. A production firm from LA made the contact in the first place.
Initially, they had scheduled one week of filming and production, but made it two for a film and production crew of 20.
That's about at least 240 person days for crew, which you can safely estimate to be more than $60,000 - which doesn't include the rent for any equipment and the studios. I'm pretty sure that you can safely assume 100k production cost. For this part of the movie only!
