For about 6 months I have been speaking with @CaolanRob and Samantha, a former member of Identity Europa who helped in the organization of Charlottesville

Caolan took his first step into the rabbit hole after the Pulse night club attack. He was angry. It threatened his identity as a young gay man. Confused, he went online for answers He found ppl who told him that Muslims were invaders coming to destroy civilization....and him.
After his film Borderless, Caolan saw through the lie. He couldnt turn his eye from the truth. Those “invaders” were in fact women and children and men looking for an opportunity that was impossible for them back home due to the ppl Caolan feared. Now he’s exposing the lies.
Samantha has a different story. A life of trauma and loneliness drove her into a toxic relationship she couldn’t give up. She made the choice to join the Alt-Right and thanks to her organizational skills and ambition quickly climbed the ranks. It all peaked with a death at Cville
The events of that day shook her, & she began the process of questioning. Her friends could not explain how a movement that celebrated the 14 words & organized an event leading to death could claim to be peaceful. She quietly left, only to speak out far later. Now she fights back
I now consider both of these ppl friends. They have shown emotional growth and humility, both in their public actions and in the long emotionally ripe convos til late in the evening. While we all had different experiences, we can look at each other and say. “You get it”
Now why am I gushing over a couple former assholes? Why care? Shouldn’t they just go away? Shame themselves and leap down a well? Maybe. But in this journey of mine I have struggled to find allies who truly understand the expansive and diverse nature of modern white supremacy.
That is why we have come together. The same capitol I stood in front of 4 years ago was attacked. It was attacked by a movement that each of us participated in at some level. We were the gasoline carriers of an ancient evil practice. And today marks a day of change and redemption
That redemption is not for us however, but for those lost in the dark and energizing world of the far right and cults. We aim to build a new path. Forge a new way for those who wish to leave. Today we launch http://futurefreedom.community

Movements of former extremists of the past have been led by those of a different generation. While they have served as invaluable mentors and confidants to us, we must now pick up the mantle and create a movement for a new generation.
