Tomozaki Episode 4, A thread:
I basically analyze the episode and look for some cool layouts and direction choices.

We start out where we left off last episode with Yuzu, it's revealed that she's been worried about her relationship with Nakamura, so she went to Tomozaki for Atafami advice so he could help her.
What a pure, sweet girl.
Tomozaki, as usual, is on his "old man" antics.

This shot with Izumi and Tomozaki is a call back to the shot with Tomozaki and Aoi on the first episode, showing us that Tomozaki has become confident enough to converse with someone at length, even though the topic is Atafami
We also have a call back to the time when Aoi first said "Hexactly." with her gesture. The reason this call back is important because Tomozaki is someone who's better at learning what he sees. "Monkey see, monkey do."
In that sense, he is a true monkey.

Tomozaki has become someone who somewhat enjoys life, he is proud of the person he has become, even though his personality hasn't changed much, all that changed was his approach to life.
He has also begun to change others' approach too, this conversation with Yuzu is proof.

Tomozaki is fascinated with the effort Hinami has put in to become who she is today, "effort" being the key word here, it becomes more important as the episode comes to a close.
Tomozaki comes out clean to Fuuka, and explains that he hasn't really read them before, that's because he wants to be sincere to the people that he interacts with.
He doesn't want to feed someone lies no matter what, and that just proves how good of a boy he is

Good storyboarding here with Tomo and Fuuka apart, as if one of them is a mortal being, the other is an angel
My favorite part has to be the background
Fuuka is surrounded by an angelic light whilst the curtains behind Tomozaki is closed, signifying that he has a bright future

and finally (for this scene), the OST hits in the perfect time to make her angelic aura hit home, a big fan of the directing this episode already.
Nakamura ends up challenging Tomozaki at Atafami, but Nakamura ends up getting chewed out by him multiple times (as expected).
This basically makes Nakamura incredibly vulnerable to criticism especially because he didn't let Erika and the others go outside

Being vulnerable to Erika is bad for Nakamura because he rejected her, as stated by Yuzu at the start of the episode, so as the scene continues...
Things get pretty heated between him and Erika, the OST does a good job reflecting the tension in the room, though when Erika starts insulting Nakamura's efforts...
Tomozaki doesn't allow that to stand, because he admires people that put in the effort to better themselves, people like Hinami who were shown to have done this episode.

ent self. He hasn't exactly learned how to converse with people, granted he does look the part, he is putting an effort of his own to become a better person
Erika dismisses his single comments with a single "Freak." because Tomozaki has went a tad bit too far, this lets her control the mood as she pleases.
To calm down the tension between the two, Yuzu steps in, and does her best (as usual) so that things won't go too sour.

When Erika and the others leave the room, the door remains slightly open, which indicates that Erika is frustrated that she couldn't revenge on Nakamura
Then Nakamura comforts Yuzu, because it's really scary to speak when the mood in the room is very tense

Nakamura leaves with a simple but sweet line, indicating that they've become more friendly rivals rather than enemies, thanks to Tomozaki standing up for his efforts
