It's like: pedophiles want to abuse children. Pedophiles don't want to have consensual sex with short women, despite some online folks claiming that desiring short women is pedophilia. Pedophiles don't just want ddlg ageplay with adult participants
Pedophiles may be drawn to those things, but when someone self-identifies as a "minor-attracted person" they don't mean they like ageplay or short women, they want to abuse children.
Similarly, zoophiles want to abuse animals. They don't want consensual sex with fictional animal characters that, unlike "normal" animals, have the ability to consent.
They don't want to do petplay with humans. They don't want to have sex with animals that are therians or otherkin, who have been seen culturally as humans, and can consent.
These things may appeal to zoophiles, but when someone self-identifies as a zoophile, it means they want to abuse animals. The people who benefit from calling "feral" art and petplay "zoophilic" are those self-identified zoophiles who want to abuse animals.
They use that to convince people into kink or "feral" art that they're just like zoophilles, that zoophillia is common and normal in these communities. If we deplatform the zoophiles, they say, that will include petplay and people having sex with their therian partners.
When we don't push back against that, the zoophiles convince themselves that everyone is secretly like them, and self-identified zoophiles are just the only ones open about it.
As communities, the furry, therian, and otherkin have to make it clear that self-identified zoophiles aren't welcome. We have to deplatform zoophiles, for the safety of both ourselves and animals. And we have to not let those zoophiles claim things like kink are actually theirs.
