My goal is to shift the focus of the orisha to the ori. The ori is the higher self. Your own ori is more powerful than all orishas combined.

So, which orisha guards your head? You. You guard your own head. This is why all humans have the ability to BECOME the orisha.
We are so accustomed to looking elsewhere for power and strength, when you posses all the qualities already within you.

The orishas (not the Irunmole) were human beings that lived their destiny so well they reached enlightenment and broke the chain of reincarnation.
Yes, you have the ability to become the orisha you are seeking. All souls do. This is actually the reason we even incarnated. The true Orisha tradition is not mindless worshiping, but spiritual enlightenment. To stop incarnation so we can become elevated souls.
When we put hands on our heads and pray to our ori, we are bringing alignment with our Iponri. Our iponri is the most perfected version of your soul. The Iponri gives us the ase to make things happen, the twin you that resides in the cosmos. As above, so below.
When the iponri and the ori (ori-inu, the higher conscious guiding you on Earth) are in alignment, this is when we create things to happen. Where we have strength to persevere. The iponri *wants* you enlightened, wants your soul to become the orisha.
This is why understanding Yoruba is so important.

Ori = head
Orisha = selected head

The head that reached enlightenment. We are all eniyan (humans). Eniyan means “chosen one”, the Creator chose US to be born to raise the energy of Aye (Earth) and break the reincarnation cycle.
The Orisha tradition never wants you to rely on divinities more than you rely on yourself. That was never the goal, never the intention of your Eleda (the Creator). The TRUE Ifa/Orisha tradition is understanding that to be born means you’re not yet in true alignment.
