Things I’ve learned from scalping that might help some.

Have a predetermined loss that is acceptable for your account size & DONT stray

Don’t scalp a product if you have a confirmation bias.

Don’t hold shorts or hold longs learn to pivot.

Take swipes dont expect large bags
E-Mini/mini futures or small exchange futures are a great place to start gaining an understanding of these products

Except losses, especially when getting started. (see number 1)

Scalp often.

I never paper traded and wouldn’t recommend it. Leads to false expectations.
You can scalp/trade futures for the most part anytime, so don't quit your day job. You will probably take a loss your first year.

The loss mentioned above is tuition.

Stick to one lots.

Only trade money you can loose
Some watch price, but looking at a chart might be helpful to people that are visual learners. (Not looking at it for TA, just price movement) Do whichever you are comfortable with, and don't worry about the next guy.
Don’t set daily, monthly or annual goals. This leads to unnecessary pressure and may cloud judgment.

Don’t get upset when your life partner or family is not interested or excited about your trading. You would not be excited if they started weaving baskets underwater.
