My spiciest take as a former Top U.S. 50 mythic raider in WoW is that pretty much any MMO would be better if it stopped making content for people like me and made everything accessible to anyone. Stuff like ult is a waste of dev time on by far the flakiest players. Not joking tbh
The eternal constant is high end players having a massive misunderstanding in 1) how important they are to the game's ecosystem & 2) How important hard raid content is.
If SE decided to go all in on shit like Bozja & alt systems like BLU and put hard raid content on the back?

Nothing lost really. I've watched all of the most hardcore people in WoW strip away from the game and there's always more people who don't care about that content who don't even notice they're gone lol
A lesson I learned from Wildstar is, in part, that designing for this crowd is a bust. It isn't sustainable. Every change I hated in WoW was the antithesis to this crowd but it was popular with the people who weren't as plugged in. I'm sure a lot of ppl loved that shit.
Figured I'd get all of my takes out of the way this week so I can focus on school before the patch lmaooo
I'm sure that devs WANT to make this content and will continue to make it. Many high end players use the fact that they aren't having fun with THAT specific content to suggest that the ENTIRE game is going downhill.
Which isn't true. You misunderstand your importance.

I think a lot of us (me included) deal with the hurt of not enjoying a game anymore by acting like We Are Connoisseurs Of Sophisticated Game Mechanics when in reality, we just don't like the idea that the game is being made with other people in mind and that we're a tiny group.
Gaming companies are here to make $$$ - They're gonna do what is more enjoyable for the vast majority of the playerbase every time. Sooner we accept it, the sooner we can either find a way to enjoy the game or move on.
