ive kept my mouth shut about this because i kinda just wanted to silently watch and form my own opinion but as a poc i am quite honestly disgusted by this communities actions. its infuriating to watch white people talk over poc voices. it always fucking happens.
i wanted to stay out of it because i usually dont involve myself in these things but its something that needs to be addressed and something that everyone needs to reflect back on.
no one “cancelled” her. NO ONE. they said that what she said showed a clear bias and can be perceived as anti-black and people took that as a personal attack when that wasnt it. and the same people who took it as such KEEP BRINGING IT UP. Stop it, this shouldve ended days ago
not to mention people continue to water down the situation. “they called her out because she called quinn reckless!” if thats all she did this wouldnt have happened in the first place and you’re making poc seem like the bad guys.
if you don’t know the full story you have no right to speak on this situation, especially if people are watering it down and making it seem like poc suddenly burst a blood vessel because some white chick called a poc character “reckless”
and im sick and tired of seeing posts saying “cmon guys lets be all positive” i get youre trying to be friends with everyone but you are Not Helping if you continue to bring the situation to the light.
and it sucks because the final space fandom is supposed to be a safe space but how the fuck is it going to be a safe space if poc’s words are going to be disregarded and brushed off as “haters will be haters”. if this isn’t a safe space for poc, this isnt a safe space for anyone.
you dont have to mention a persons skin color to be racist or participate in racism. thats why it was “casual racism”. Its holding the Only black woman on the team to a much higher standard than the other characters. no one thinks she was purposefully being racist or anti-black
and she wasnt the only one whos done it. ive seen it happen so many times in this community. the only difference now is that people are finally fed up. and this situation was EXACTLY what poc were afraid of.
poc were blamed for blowing the situation out of proportion when it was the complete opposite. Most of the poc who were involved have stayed SILENT about this and its the white people who felt attacked bringing it up again.
and poc were talked down to and BLOCKED when they tried to speak up about the situation. Are you people not seeing the problem with this??? and the fact that you people expect an APOLOGY FROM POC???? Absolutely the fuck not. this isnt kindergarten. grow the fuck up and move on.
