The demonisation of Jeremy Corbyn (& his supporters) has become so normalised that it takes real courage, and critical thinking, for any MSM journalist to challenge the institutionalised prejudice against him. Same for many politicians too.

Only the tiniest bit of research is necessary to see beyond the lies, the smears, the sabotage but peer pressure is powerful as is (for some, sadly for many) concern about one's own privileged position.

Plus, as others have said doing nothing/standing silent when bad... 2/8
...things happen has consequences.

It may be too strong to argue that ALL the verbal & physical violence towards JC & his family & his supporters is the result of the 5 year political/MSM campaign against him but the insults in the HoC, the constant doorstopping, the...3/8
... media ridiculing of his policies & his person enables & to a large extent excuses the attacks.

And when physical violence occurs & MPs & journos including those who insist on political/media civility stay silent or worse double down on their abuse this highlights.. 4/8
... that such bad behaviour is now seen as 'normal'. All this is especially offensive given Corbyn's committment to peace, equality & social justice for all, including those who attack (or stay silent). Also, given his political ideology; the real alternative JC offers... 5/8
... every time it happens, each time he is unfairly attacked, by his political opponents (including those in his Party), by a journo at his gate, by a man in the street, with little challenge/support from powerful others an already sick democracy is under further attack...6/8
BUT, there is challenge & critique; from alternative Left media, from those (in & out of the Labour party) who look beyond the Corbyn-caricature and pay attention to what the man actually does & says rather than what is said about him. 7/8
And of course there is JC himself who continues & who insists that the pressures of a Western politician are nothing compared to those - at home & abroad - who worry daily about having enough to eat, somewhere to live, staying safe.
