It bothers me that so many criminal justice organizations use Facebook as a default for events when Facebook excludes a huge number of formerly incarcerated folks in their terms of service
And the answer is to make sure you use multiple-platforms or platforms that don't discriminate as your default. For instance, we live stream events on Zoom, also on FB, and then make sure every webinar is on our YouTube channel too.
Yes, it is more work....but you can't effectively say the point is to build a movement bringing impacted people and formerly incarcerated people together on a platform that discriminates in its terms of service
