Your regular and unpopular reminder that there are many Canadians, probably around 8-10% or so, who vote conservative from habit or "legacy", who are perfectly fine, wonderful people, uninterested in politics and unaware of what's going on in the political theatre.
Many still believe the @CPC_HQ are Joe Clark conservatives still. Progressive. They remember that Mulroney addressed pollution and know he talked recently about a UBI and they still think the two major parties are a lot alike (a thing the NDP pretends is true which is 😂).
So they still believe you vote one side and when they go too far one way, you elect the other side and regain balance. They don't understand that this is not only no longer true, but that's it's a dangerous misconception.
But they're not bad people. They're not the people I refer to when I rail against "conservatives". Every time I've shown such people the difference, what's really going on out here with the actual conservative parties, they recoil on shock or horror.
Their problem is ignorance, not malice. Sure, some of the folks who don't understand what's happened to conservatism in North America, would be okay with this stuff, but I think the bulk, the majority of those people, would be appalled.
And we can't really say, "they're just as bad because they should stay informed" because not everyone *can*.

So, just to remind you that @JustinTrudeau was right when he said they're our friends and neighbors, not our enemies.
One enemies are the ones leading and enabling these parties into this horrifying, dangerous, crazy place. They're the strategists and their "journalist" familiars, many of the politicians themselves, the conservative think tanks and astro turf organizations.
We should see many conservatives as victims of years of lies and manipulation.

We should be angry at the Pied Pipers, not the children following along.

P.S. My mom made me write this.
I know people who will vote whatever conservative name is beside the box, have no idea who this "Tool guy" is and don't want to ruin their day by hearing about politics.

"It's Canada, FFS, how bad can it be, here, have a beer and chill."
