i think people should acknowledge more that something being a bad adaptation of the source material =/= being a bad piece of media.
and yes im talking about kory in the teen titans cartoon (+ttg). the show? enjoyable, totally! but she’s still a bad adaptation of the character

people are allowed to be upset shes an unfaithful adaptation (especially because the show’s popularity has damaged her comics counterpart), but other people are also allowed to like the show, these things are not mutually exclusive and i see people fight about it on here SO much
this can also apply to Titans, i’ve actively been complaining about how they did Jason & what they’re planning to do to Tim, and like I think these are real problems and they make me mad as hell! But I’m also not saying ‘Titans is an irredeemable terrible piece of media bc of it’
like i think titans sucks a lot of the time & is a mess but that is my opinion & i’m never going to tell other people how to enjoy the show, if you enjoy it thats cool! but ALSO it’s reasonable for me as a comics fan to be mad about how they do my faves. these ideas can coexist
so many people on here are just always looking for a fight & acting like they need to be seen as Correct for their opinions on media & its tiring as hell when its about stupid stuff like this. (obviously not talking about pointing out problematic content- thats very different!)
