Y’all have to understand for institutionalists/left-liberal elites/The Cathedral/whatever you want to call it on #TeamHedgeFund, their employer IS their religion, faith, community, and yes, often family
This was most acutely seen when I worked in policy. It was basically split between those who wanted real careers and eventually left, and those who stuck around with the mediocre pay because they had no other skills, no other friends, no other social capital
But I see it in tech as well. It’s not remotely coincidental 90% of those pushing for corporate wokeism are single 20-somethings in marketing, sales, and HR. They need the workplace to act more as a sacred safe space for their political faith cuz they don’t have anything else
What they fail to understand is outsiders have this same desire, and they aren’t beholden to HR departments and mandatory diversity trainings
