Think you can't change? Six years ago I was a doomsday prepping - illuminati obsessed - anti-vax - flat earth evangelical

What I now know as the start of my deconversion, I accepted any ideas that corroborated my beliefs just so I didn't have to deal with the uncomfortable thought, "Maybe god isn't real?"

Flat Earth was me trying to prove god existed. I thought it was pointing me to him, through

my interpretations of scripture. Words like 'firmament,' ideas about the rapture and god revealing himself to the world. Descriptive language and literal thinking made it impossible for me to see any allegory in scripture. Like, I thought the earth was really created in 7 days.
