The mission of Democratic Majority for Israel is simple: strengthen and ensure the Democratic Party’s continued allegiance to Israel’s settler-colonial project. In other words, shut down criticism of Israel from any left & progressive candidates. 2/
Last year, DMFI spent close to 1 million dollars on ads in Iowa exclusively targeting then presidential contender @BernieSanders in response to Sanders’ statement calling for conditioning US military funding to Israel and redirecting a portion of funds to occupied Gaza. 3/
Core figures of the Democratic party establishment (Chuck Shumer, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris…) remain tied to Dem Majority for Israel’s project of “unwavering support for Israel.” 4/
DMFI’s CEO Mark Mellman, worked as a top consultant for AIPAC, said “The overwhelming majority of elected Democrats are pro-Israel and we intend to keep it that way...there is a small group of outliers who are trying to change that and we are here to do battle with them.” 5/
