/ Appreciate @SHM & @thehospitalist highlighting @JHospMedicine #JHMChat. Over the past 5 years, we’ve created a great community that has allowed us to engage, network, and connect on some incredibly important topics.

/ In April 2020, as the first wave of COVID was ravaging our hospitals, we had a conversation with Lt. Gen @markhertling where we learned about “Battle Buddies” and the importance of teams in “Ten Tips for a Crisis”

/ In June, while our streets were ablaze with protests around social injustice, police brutality, and structural racism we stepped into the tension with @gradydoc and @ndidiunaka with our “Conversation on Racism in Medicine”

/ In September, we turned our focus to how COVID has adversely affected women physicians w/ @nancyspector and @shikhajain. We discussed "mommy taxes" and how our female colleagues' careers are taking the brunt of the impact

/ Then, in October we turned the lens to Virtual Medical communities w/ @dminter89, @TxID_Edu & @DxRxEdu. We learned how #SoMe and online medical communities stepped into the educational vacuum created by COVID.

/ 2020 was a year that stressed our society and medical system like no other. We hope that #JHMChat and @JHospmedicine have operated as a platform to connect and form a community where we can discuss these issues openly...
/ This work wouldn’t come together w/o: @futuredocs (the OG and founder of #JHMChat), @SocietyHospMed's @BrettRadler & @CaitCowan, and @JHospMedicine's Digital Media Fellow @aCastellanos and JHM's Editor-In-Chief @SamirShahMD
