Can we stop pretending that Republican electeds have any interest in governing? They want to shitpost, do stunts for media attention and fundraising, harass their Democratic colleagues. None of them wants unity or to work together to fight the pandemic.
Republican electeds don't want to work with their Dem colleagues or acknowledge the danger the violent attempted coup put their colleagues in. They don't take any responsibility for their actions. We've seen countless examples of this just in the last 24 hours.
We can't change who Republicans are, nor can we change their constituents who support their antics. All that we can do is create a cost for their actions. And as of right now we're not really trying to create that cost. Which worries me greatly.
Most Americans are sick of this. Which is why the GOP just lost the White House, the Senate, and couldn't take back the House. If the GOP wants to continue down this path, let them. But we shouldn't roll over. There has to be a cost for their actions that put lives in danger.
