“Boys are easier to raise” is one of the reasons why the “build your man up” concept exists.

Parents, especially moms, coddle their sons, lazily or if ever teach them to channel their feelings in non-harmful ways, and then they grow up to be emotionally stunted men.

People will raise their daughters tho. The saying “moms raise their daughters but love their sons” is very much so true. Hence why women typically have our shit together and don’t expect anyone else to put our shit together unlike men.

Because you rarely see people telling men that they need to be patient with women and “help us grow.” You don’t see people guilting men for “wanting a finished project.”

Why? Cuz women are expected to be the full package from jump. Room for grace is only for men.

My grandmother did not coddle my dad or his brothers. She loved them but still taught them about accountability, responsibility, and emotional intelligence.

That’s evident in how my dad and uncles care for their families. I will def be doing what she did if I have a son.
