Honestly I think this is one of the all time great responses and it does not get enough credit.
Their response to Richard Spencer is to have a song called "Where's the Revolution?", with the music video invoking the imagery of Karl Marx and Lenin.
It's superb.

If you would like to see further proof of Depeche Mode's comradeship

And here's Alan Wilder discussing the use of the Hammer and Sickle in their album artworks, and the power of the Worker
Depeche Mode were also one of the first Western bands to play in the Soviet Union.
They were well known for regularly passing through the wall to East Berlin. Martin Gore apparently was heavily in love with a girl there.

Depeche Mode should be spoke in the same vain as Sabbath, Zeppelin and Floyd. They are icons of British music.
Their influence is incredible. Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Manson, Rammstein. They inspired so much of the 90's sound.
40 years and they're still making brilliant music

It also needs saying that Depeche Mode have always been huge advocates for LGBT
During their live show and performance of "Walking in My Shoes" they play a video of a Trans woman going about a day in their life
Allies always
Trans Right are human rights
