Over the years, ppl send an FYI about me to an org that I’m “divisive or they don’t like my tweets on racism.” Y’all. I’m a critical race scholar and practitioner. If you are hiring me for DEI work, you should be concerned if I DON’T publicly take a stance on race & racism
If your DEI scholar/practitioner/ consultant doesn’t write, talk about, or engage in spaces about racism or whiteness or critical discourse, then, who are you hiring?
Being vocal about racism IS building community. Addressing systemic injustice IS about creating more inclusive spaces. Naming whiteness as a divisive power IS about bringing people together to thrive. If you see these as divisive, then what does that say about your community?
