So here's how the new border arrangements post Brexit actually work, for us.

ave to come in from abroad, mostly the EU and there is no alternative to this.

sure this will improve but, it will never be so fast we expect as it was pre-Brexit.

the carriers to collect that VAT/tax on top, that can be hefty and a charge that previously didn't exist. Those costs must be covered.
And there can be charges from the other side as well to pay handling agents to get things to the UK and through customs also.

So post-Brexit the movement of goods is slower, more hassle and more costly and sorry to anyone that champions Brexit (they can do so if they wish) but this is the reality faced by us and we're sure many, many other businesses if not most all.
In turn, logically and despite what some may say publicly, that means that getting goods to the UK will become slower and more costly, both of those inconveniences are costly and those costs will be burned by consumers as there is no alternative to this.
It also makes on the small low-value items we sell, it impossible to send goods to NI and the EU as the costs involved of paperwork and import/export just make it unsustainable as a commercial endeavor now. So services we could provide, we now cannot....
even to other UK citizens living in NI and a few other areas.
If anyone can demonstrate how there is an opportunity in all this we'd be most grateful as the products we sell are not suitable for use outside of the EU largely, very little is in our world as its region dependent.
To our customers, all we can do is apologise for the delays and costs incurred, we are completely powerless to do anything other than that until HMG finds some way to sort the mess out.
