Nazi appeasers, gammons, racists, xenophobic, anti-immigrants, little
Englanders. The abuse, and refusal to honour the Ref result, drove me to leave the peace and comfort of my anonymity and join others in the line of fire. All of this made 29/1/19 such a momentous day. 1/5
I was delighted for the supporters I’d met and the hundreds of thousands who had entrusted me, an immigrant with zero political experience, with their precious vote because they, and millions of others, were tired of being betrayed, and ignored, by the political class. 2/5
So my vote on the the WA to end our membership was for them. The EU, with its flag, laws, currency, dogma, wants to control everything. Good luck to countries wanting to be subservient to a grp of autocrats. It’s not an ideology we believe in nor ever wish to return to. 3/5
But ending our membership is only the 1st phase. Years of Europhile politicians entangling us in ever-closer political union means that there’s some way to go yet before we can claim to be completely free again. 4/5
Nevertheless, getting fired from my job last Jan, on the instructions of UK voters, was a very sweet moment for me. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Join my former colleagues for a look back at Brexit 1 yr on. Live today at 6pm on @Unlocked_UK_ & @Daily_Express FB page. It’ll be a great show! 5/5
