I was going to post this yesterday but fell into a very deep and satisfying sleep for 12 hours instead.

Now I'm well rested, I'm going to drop the inflammatory Covid hot take I was waiting to do when the stats released yesterday 1/6
The Dept of Health's Covid death toll for NI now stands for 1792.

This has officially surpassed both the Sutton and Lost Lives tally for deaths caused by the IRA during 30 years of conflict in NI. 2/6
If you are the sort of person who builds your political ideology around anger over the Troubles and opposition to anyone you associate with the IRA

I expect equivalent or greater effort in tackling Covid. 3/6
If I've spent most of my life listening to your intransigent wish to replay the Troubles specifically over the death toll of the IRA and I don't see the same fervour from you for a govt that chose not to tackle a virus that has delivered that death toll in less than a year: 4/6
I don't want to hear a single gurning whimper from you on the past ever again.

Your value for life is clearly little more than a tool to deliver your sectarianism and you deserve irrelevance in the eyes of living NI citizens you clearly do not value in equal measure. 5/6
We did not have to lose so many.

And we will lose more because of the political decisions made by specific people.

When all is said and done, hold them to account and let this be their lifelong shame. 6/6
Addendum: this is me being exceptionalist and talking about NI specifically as commenting on the 100k+ death toll of the UK gov may make me breach certain Twitter terms of use.
