Her life wasn't perfect, a girl raised in a Christian family, became pregnant at 17 and had to marry her "Baby Daddy" at 18...

18months later, her husband abandoned her...

So at 19yrs, she already looked like a failure, a single mother living with her mother!

She got herself a job as a typist after high school to support her mum and daughter...just then it looked like things would work out but...

One day at work, a photographer that worked with "EBONY" saw this beauty typing away on her typewriter and asked "Are You A Model?"...

To her she was just a single teenage mother with a messed up future but God saw in her the "Face Of Black Excellence".

She was very shy but felt it was a "Divine Calling", she accepted the modeling gig at "Ebony" but her strict Christian mother rejected her.

She was thrown out!

So now she was...
- A single mother
- Abandoned by her husband
- Thrown out by her mother
- Homeless

At such a young age...She must have had a heart of steel

Her mother,a Christian saw modeling and acting as a "Den Of Iniquity"..I guess that's why God wanted her in that sphere!

She went from modeling to acting, she had many gigs but she didn't take all...

She handpicked roles and any role that doesn't exalt God, show black excellence or doesn't appeal to her...She REJECTED!!!

She had to show her mother you can be in a saint even in a den of iniquity!

After 2years she reconciled with her mother and took the movie industry by storm starring in many movies but continued her character of handpicking roles...

See we need to get to a point in our lives when we know everything isn't about money...

Even as an influencer, you need..

To know when a particular gig doesn't send the right message, you reject...another good gig will surely come!

She didn't sell short her standard for a few notes of dollar bills, even when she was massively underpaid in her movie roles...

She didn't relent...she persevered!!!

When she started working with Tyler Perry and he heard how much she was paid for her movie roles...He decided to double, triple and sometimes quadruple her asking price for any role...

There is a reason why Tyler Perry and Denzel Washington made her their children's godmother...

At 96years, she's won every award on the book, she even received "Presidential Medal Of Freedom", the highest civilian honour in 2016...

Like apostle Paul, she can boldly say

"I have fought the good fight of faith, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith"- 2Tim 4:7

She believed she had a sixth sense and God had a awy of telling her things that would happen in her life...

I'm left wondering "Is that why she released her memoir (autobiography" 2days ago on the 26th and died today, the 28th"...

A peaceful death at 96...
A well lived life...

The story of CICELY THOMPSON TYSON just goes to show that you don't need a "Perfect Life" to portray godliness...

Do not sell your values for money!!!

Stand for what you believe and at the end of the day...IT WILL SURELY PAY!!!
