It is ten years since Benjamin Robinson died.

It was not just a tragedy, it was a failure by those who should have taken the steps to stop it. It should never have happened.

In the time since, his parents, Karen and Peter, have made sure failures like that don’t happen again.
I have no idea how they, and the rest of their families, have taken that tragedy and that failure, and made good come of it. I will never know the true, full cost of that, because only they truly know.
I do know they have my thanks and endless respect for making sports, but especially rugby, safer for everyone. Including, now, my kids.

Ben’s death was a tragedy, and a failure but Karen and Peter have made sure it was not meaningless.

And I thank them.
Concussion’s not a bump, it’s a brain injury.

If in doubt, sit them out.

RIP Ben Robinson.
