I’m often critical of @BorisJohnson but sometimes he gets it right. By suggesting the 8th of March as a reopening date it allows us to think forward. What is needed now is clear guidance as to what that looks like so schools can start to pull those reopening plans together...

...the biggest issue around closing schools and creating remote learning offers was the timescale given. (About 12 hours). If schools had known prior to Christmas then transition to home-learning would have been a lot smoother. I know the situation is fast changing...
...and this sometimes requires swift action, but with the reopening not happening until at least the 8th of March we now have a significant time window to get plans in place, we do however need the guidance so that time is not thrown-away. So @educationgovuk let’s be seeing it.
