I seen a few posts saying "they hating on us", "it's only a problem when poor people making money", etc.

Let me try to explain what actually happen.
There's a process:

1- The platform you use gives you access to stocks

2- Executed by a broker

3- Clearing firm front the money by providing collateral to the settlement firm

4- Settlement firm finalize the transaction requiring collateral from clearing houses (takes 2-3 days)
So if you have millions shares of a stock being shorted by institutional investors and a large group of retail investors (in millions) rebelling and want to fuck them over...

a clearing firm need to have enough collateral to get transactions settled in a timely fashion
But if transaction volumes spike to insane levels, settlement houses requires a more collateral to finalize trades.

Which means it takes more money upfront from Clearing firms to get transactions settled when you want to sell your stocks after buying them in less than two days
But if the clearing house run out of collateral (like they did today), you can't get your money if they never paid the people who is responsible for finalizing your initial transaction to buy the stock.

Now multiply that by millions of people doing that at the same time you did
THAT'S what happened and explains why they halted trading.

All other narratives is gaslighting trying to reinforce people's trauma.

What's next:

Well clearing firms and brokers are now scrambling for loans to be able to cover the insane demand. As they get an influx of money, you'll get yours!

Then they'll allow you to start trading Game stop, Amc etc. again
As you can see, some clearing firms got enough influx of cash to continue finalize transactions.
Oh and if they said they closed out your position to limit your risk, they was telling the truth.

Because if they fronted you and you couldn't pay them for the losses you would've incurred, your account would've been negative when trading resumed.
Citadel is a market maker that make sure there's enough liquidity to get trades finalize quicker through the process I explained above.

Well... their Liquidity was drying up also.

All in all there wasn't enough liquidity to get trades executed in a timely manner.
